Perfect party frocks and dress ups avaliable to hire for only $10 (+ $10 bond), whats more you get to keep it for 4 nights. Trash`e designs are pretty well known among Wellington's indie kids for their bold design features - 80's shapes and colours, huge machine stitched images, prints and all manner of applique. Dandylion has stocked this local label for two years now and this winter designer Nicola has transformed one of Dandylions corner walls into one big Trash`e 80's playtime sweater shrine. All her fantastic pink, jade and black sweatshirts are hand embellished with sparkling jewell details and are for sale at $140 each. None is like the other which is just the way we like our fashion here at Dandylion! If 80's bling is your thing get on down to Dandy!

Bitchcraft twilight carnival

Hey ! Roll up, roll up, this Saturday Aro park (Aro hall if wet weather) is host to a 1950's inspired carnival - all your favourite craftsters will be there + candyfloss, a kissing booth & freak show .

This is the third Bitchcraft event and promises to be the best yet. Come along to peruse the fashion and craft stalls, + wear your best 50's frock!
& i heard a rumour that my favourites Mestar will be playing! see you there!

Alterations & Mending

Hey! Did you know that you can bring your alteration and mending jobs into Dandylion? Yep, with the dandy workroom at the back of the store you can bring a job in and have it done the same day if needs be, + its cheap! only $10-15 for hems and $5 if you just have a small job like a hole that needs patching or a couple of buttons to sew on that youv'e just never gotten around to doing yourself.

On certain days candy is the perfect accessory, the dairy on my corner has candy bracelets - yum! Over the past couple of weeks new summery fashion has been coming in, and theres been loads of candy bright colours! Last summer I was obessed with pink and green, now I've shifted my 80's obsessed eyes over to pink and yellow!!, bright Cyndi Lauper-esque lace net leggings and other such aerobic fantasticness. Alas - No digital camera at hand right now but I will put some pics up soon, until then you'll just have to come in and see : yellow and green summer stripe singlets and turquoise tiger print from lekker becky, pony print bow tie sweatshirt dresses from Humbug, and bright sweatshirts with spotty yellow lace inlay from Lorelei. + Lots more sexy and simple pieces that will not have you looking like you want to be an 80's pop star if that is not your thing!!!

Wow! I went to the dress rehearsal of the wearable arts awards show last night and it was amazing. It was beautiful, funny and sexy what with fantastic music and lighting, glitter, snow and a troop of slender topless male dancers, and then theres the entrys themselves. If your not one of the lucky ones who scored a ticket to the actual show definetly see it when its on T.V.

Wellington is all excited and busy at the moment with lots going on, like suddenly everyones woken up. Teapartys are back on yay!!!, for those uninitiated Dandylion hosts a teaparty every Friday from about 12-1 pm. Its open to everyone and sometimes theres cake. yum. Teaparty is also where you can get your hands on the latest newletter from designer and general notorious character/go getter/trendsetter Trashe. Last weeks one is in store now and its a beauty. Just who is that mysteriously enigmatic nude female stormtrooper featured as the centrefold?

At Dandylion theres been new stock arriving every week like usual, Lately theres been some great pieces from lekker becky, a new label "humbug" with super cute screenprinted tees, and today we got a whole lot more of those cute photo printed badges with dolls, teapots, mushrooms and things from Plastic Fairy. I have some great pictures to put on here of some more new clothes but its a mystery to me why the computer doesnt want to do exactly what I ask it to tonight, as far as electric husbands go I think im being snubbed. - If you haven't heard The Bachelorette yet go the the record store and listen!! Shes from Auckland and does pretty electro/indie music, I went to her show a few weeks back and it was one of the best Iv'e seen all year.
